**YOU MUST BE OVER 18 YEARS OF AGE TO PLACE AN ONLINE ORDER** | Our Philosophy Our philosophy is that wine should be a natural product with 'real' character and should be made with respect for the environment. We take the time to know the origins of our wines and we have built relationships with our winemakers and producers, some of which go back as far as we do.
Many of our wines are biodynamic, and/or certified organic, and all are naturally produced with the emphasis on sustainable methods in the vineyard and careful handling in the winery. We don't buy in bulk and we don't believe in brands - we're not a big business buying from big vineyards. We are 'fairtrade' in the sense that we trade fairly and sustainably with our producers and our customers.
As an Independent we buy wines that are produced in small quantities from family-owned wineries and artisan producers. Our wines represent high quality and real value for money; they're a pleasure to drink and we hope you enjoy them.
(The picture right, is the cellar of Jean Pillot; he makes our lovely 'Chassagne Montrachet' - a very naturally produced White Burgundy from the Cote de Beaune) | | | Managing Director Raj Soni established R.S. Wines as a small Bristol business in 1985 after borrowing £360 from his local bank! His first wine purchases with this princely amount were a parcel of Salon Le Mesnil Champagne, and some Deutcher Tafelwein. The company has grown 'organically' over the years, remaining fiercely independent.
When not involved in all things to do with wine, Raj is a keen cyclist who likes the odd challenge! Having ridden down the Nile, up the Himalayas and along the Great Wall of China (all for Mencap. His 2007 challenge was his first Ironman Triathlon (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride & 26 mile marathon) to raise money for the Bhopal Medical Appeal. Raj completed the Ironman Triathlon Nice on 24th June 2007 in 12.hours:44:mins non-stop (in 34 degrees!) and raised £2000 for Bhopal. In January 2008 he visited the 'Sambhavna Clinic' in Bhopal, India to see how they use the money that people donate, and the fantastic work they do there for the gas victims. It was inspiring.
